We received these questions from other dog owners
What should I bring for my dog?
What should I bring for my dog?
There are no crates in our cottages, and there is no dog shower at our park. So be sure to bring your own crate or basket, food and water bowls, and a few old towels. After a walk through the shifting sand, your dog’s coat will often be covered in sand. Check your dog for ticks after every walk in the woods, and keep a tick remover in your bag. It’s also handy to bring an extra leash and some waste bags for when you’re out and about.
Can I bring my dog to De Hoge Veluwe National Park?
Can I bring my dog to De Hoge Veluwe National Park?
Yes, your dog is more than welcome at De Hoge Veluwe National Park, just 2 kilometers from our park. Always keep your dog on a leash. Dogs are not allowed inside the Kröller-Müller Museum, the Museonder, or Jachthuis Sint Hubertus. Planning to grab a bite to eat or a drink? Your dog is welcome at the Park Paviljoen, De Theekoepel, and Restaurant De Hoge Veluwe.
Is it safe to walk my dog now that there are wolves in the Veluwe?
Is it safe to walk my dog now that there are wolves in the Veluwe?
Wolves are shy and usually avoid people. Because a dog running loose can arouse their curiosity, the province of Gelderland advises that you always keep your dog on a short leash in the Veluwe. This keeps everyone safe. View all the rules and recommendations here. If you do happen to encounter one: keep your distance, speak loudly, and make yourself look big. And of course: never feed a wolf.
